Polisario Urges Just Sahara Solution


BEIRUT, May 18--The Polisario Front has called for a "just solution" to the Western Sahara issue."I hope the upcoming talks with Morocco will put an end to the Polisario-Rabat dispute on Western Sahara," the front's representative to the UK and Ireland, Sidi Omar, told Alalam.He said the "train of resolving the Western Sahara dispute started" with Polisario Front and Moroccan government agreeing to hold direct talks over the issue.Criticizing certain Western states for obstructing the path for settlement of the issue, Omar called on the UN Security Council to solve the Western Saharan problem through talks.He also asked the UN Security Council to give the West Saharan nation the chance to decide their fate. "Otherwise everything will have to start from scratch," he said. The Polisario is a nationalist organization with the independence of Western Sahara as its main goal.
